Pura Tanah Lot
A Temple in the sea

Tanah Lot, in Tabanan Bali regency also known as the “rice bowl of Bali”-is literally taken from the Balinese word ‘lot’, meaning sea, and the Indonesian word ‘tanah’ meaning land. Therefore, at this ‘land next to the sea’ we find uncontrived photo opportunities in a part of Bali relatively unspoiled by the tourist impact of recent years, as well as one of The most photographed icons on the island, pura tanah lot.
Pura means ‘temple’ of which Bali apparently has thousands, but none compare to this majestic land or, should we say, sea mark. It belongs to a group of six temples dotted around the island that local believes all magically protect Bali. At pura Tanah Lot this protection is in response to prayers offered to the deities of the sea, and its colorful temple celebration occurs every six month.

The Lion and The Rabbit

The animals of the forest made a bargain with a ferocious lion that killed for pleasure. It was agreed that one animal each day would willingly come to the ferocious lion’s den to be his supper and, in turn, the lion would never hunt again. The first to go to the lion’s den was a timid rabbit, who went slowly.
“Why are you late?” the lion roared when the rabbit arrived.
“I’m late because of the other lion,” said the rabbit.
“In my jungle? Take me to this other lion.”
The rabbit led the lion to a deep well and told him to look in. The lion saw his own reflection in the water and roared! The sound of his roar bounced right back at him as an echo.
“I alone am king of this jungle,” he roared again.
His echo answered him, “I alone am king of this jungle.”
With that, the lion became so enraged, he charged into the deep well with a great splash! The lion attacked his own reflection and was never heard from again.

GORILLAS

Gorillas are the largest of all the primates. A male gorilla can be 180 centimeters tall and can weigh 200 kilograms. Gorillas are very strong but they do not often fight as they are peaceful animals.
Gorillas live in small family groups of about 15. In a group there is one strong, older male, some young males, and a few females with their babies. They move slowly around a large area of jungle eating leaves and bushes.
In some ways gorillas are very like humans. When they are happy, they laugh and wave their arms. When they are angry, they beat their chests. When they are sad, they cry. But they cry quietly, without any tears.
Unfortunately, people hunt and kill gorillas. They also cut down and burn their trees. There are now only about 10,000 gorillas left in the world.

 Dear Dimas,
How are you getting along? It has been quite some time since I wrote to you. I hope that you and your family are doing well. As you can see from the address above I have moved house. My father bought a new house. We sold off the double storey terrace house and moved to a double storey semi-detached house.
I like the new house. The compound is so much bigger than the old house. There are more rooms and we have big garden. My father said that we could have a swimming pool in the garden if we want to. However, my mother said she would rather have a rock garden complete with waterfall. As for me I would rather have a space for playing football or badminton. I think he will listen to my mother.
How about visiting me and seeing our new house? I have already found a river which is good for fishing. I think you will enjoy a weekend here. See you soon!
